Excellence in Education Grant Application Information 

  • What type of projects are encouraged?      

   Projects or activities that support innovative and creative ideas that inspire both students and faculty to achieve educational     excellence and/or provide ways to strengthen and support families so that education becomes an attainable shared endeavor.  

  •  What qualifications are required to apply for grants from the Iowa-Grant Eductional Foundation (IGEF)?

            Only those persons directly connected to the Iowa-Grant School District may apply for grants.  The IGEF accepts only those                          projects for consideration that are not within the scope of the district or county responsibility and that are not typically funded by              tax dollars. 

  • Those eligible to apply include:

            1) Any Iowa-Grant staff member.

            2) Any Iowa-Grant student with the sponsorship of an appropriate Iowa-Grant staff member (preferable 3 or more students).

            3) Any business, parent group or community based organization in collaboration with an Iowa-Grant staff member.

  •  Grants Due October 1st and March 1st 

  • All applications for IGEF EIE Grants are  Only Accepted ONLINE!

  • NOTE:  Announcements of grant awards occur approximately 6 to 8 weeks after the application deadline.

  • Plan accordingly for the timing of your needs– apply for Fall projects by March 1 and Spring projects by October 1.

  • (You may also find this link through the CFSW website by accessing the text on the available grants webpage.

  • There are a few items you should have ‘in hand’ prior to beginning the application.  These include:

  •     1.      Iowa-Grant's Federal ID number.

  •     2.      Detailed project budget.

  •     3.      Full description of the project including identification of the problem or need that the project addreses, the project goals, the                audience served, the geographical location served, and other sources of support.

  •    4.      How you plan to publicly acknowledge IGEF should you receive a grant award? 


  • The final step to complete your grant application is to:

  •        PRINT OFF A COPY AND PERSONALLY GIVE TO THE SUPERINTENDENT FOR APPROVAL TO PROCEED. 

  •        With approval then you would submit the application as prompted on the CFSW website.
